Thanksgiving?

I recently celebrated an early thanksgiving gathering with my family. We all gathered together at my Aunt's house, and enjoyed a loud and happy meal. While I was eating my food, I thought about everything but what I was thankful for. The day went on, and my uncles and myself retreated to the living room and watched some college football. We talked about politics, the economy and of course, the game. My Aunt went around and videoed everyone, asking them what they were thankful for, but other then that, the subject of thankfulness never came up, except when my Grandpa blessed the food.
I feel like we are all too busy.

Too busy planning the dates to realise each day is a gift from God.

Too busy cleaning our house to realise how blessed we are to have the stuff in our house.

Too busy worrying about the traveling to be glad we have vehicles.

Too busy making meals to be grateful to have food.

Too busy to even take a moment to look at all we have.

So, like Scrooge in a Christmas Carroll, I feel like I have been given a second chance to really be thankful on thanksgiving.

God has blessed all of us with so much, I think the least we could do is be greatful once a year, if not everyday.

Take the time to count your blessings.
